SOUND THERAPY: HIMALAYAN SINGING BOWLS

Sound therapy has its basis in neurology and psychology. Sound practitioners and many medical doctors believe sound vibration has significant physiological effects.

Experts say the vibrations during a sound therapy session encourage relaxation in brain wave patterns, which in turn helps reduce stress, lower blood pressure, slow respiratory rates, and restore the heart rate to its natural rhythm.

HOW DOES THE USE OF HIMALAYAN SINGING BOWLS HELP US HEAL?

Sound Healing

Singing bowls create sounds that help us return to homeostasis balancing us physically, mentally, and emotionally. The bowls produce sounds that activate alpha waves which are calming and pleasing to the brain.

Vibrational Healing

Singing bowls produce pure vibrations that massage specific points in the body to help strengthen the body’s processes. Placing singing bowls directly on the body massages cells correcting internal imbalances.

The human body is made up of approximately 50-70% water, when one rubs a singing bowl on the body, the bowl’s healing vibrations can penetrate the layers of fascia and have a direct impact on our cells.

HOW DOES A SOUND THERAPY SESSION WORK?

You will rest comfortably and fully clothed on a massage table with your shoes removed. You may spend a part of the session face up and then may be asked to turn over so I can work on the back of your body. Singing bowls will surround you. Bowls will also be lightly rubbed on and over your body. Warm water may be added to the bowls for warm water therapy.
