Reiki (pronounced Ray-Kee) is a Japanese technique that uses gentle touch to induce a state of deep relaxation that allows the self-mind, body and spirit, to move into a state of balance and harmony, thus promoting natural healing.

Reiki was rediscovered by Dr. Mikao Usui in early 20th century Japan and brought to the United States in the 1930's. Universal Life Force Energy (the Japanese translation of Rei-ki) flows within and around us nourishing the organs and cells of our body and supporting them in their vital functions. Our state of health is determined by how this life force energy is flowing…free and balanced or stuck and stagnant. Disease or illness results when this flow is interrupted. Reiki helps to remove the blockages, restoring balance and flow. Reiki puts the body in its best condition so that it can do what it was designed to do - heal itself.

The beauty of Reiki as a healing system is that it is simple, gentle, non-invasive, and stress free, yet highly effective.

Reiki is one of the leading safe Energy Medicine approaches.

Reiki is a combination of very gentle, light touch techniques that induce the body's relaxation response, leading to a calmer physical and emotional state. It accelerates the body's self-healing abilities. Reiki is excellent in assisting healing physical, mental, emotional and spiritual issues of any kind and it gives wonderful results.

Reiki is a wonderful tool to use as a compliment to traditional and other alternative medicines. In fact, over 800 hospitals across the US such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Treatment and John Hopkins Hospital and Health System offer Reiki as a standard part of hospital care.

Receiving Reiki will not interfere or replace traditional medical care, and can, in fact, enhance it.
